Classes and Activities

Fitness classes

TOTAL FIT- Designed to give you the total body workout. The class starts with a
warm-up as we stretch the total body. You will be using free weights, machine weights, cardio machines and body weight. The class will end with a light stretch as a cool-down.


BODYWEIGHT FITNESS- Designed to get you stronger by using your own body weight. You will be doing a number of exercises that work on balance, range of motion, endurance and cardio. No weights will be used. The class will end with a light stretch as a cool-down.

  

EZ FIT- Designed for all beginners or those resuming fitness. The class will start with stretching and range of motion exercises. You will be using light weights along with body weight exercises. You will also learn breathing techniques for lifting weights and exercising. The class will end with a light stretch as a cool-down.


CHAIR FITNESS- Designed as a light 30-minute workout for the upper body. The class
starts with a light upper body stretch and range of motion exercises. You will be using free weights, machine weights and body weight from a seated position. The class will end with a light stretch as a cool-down.


TAI CHI- An ancient Chinese tradition that today is practiced as a graceful form of exercise. This class involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing.


TABATA- A high-intensity interval training that consists of eight sets of fast-paced exercises. Each sequence is broken into eight 20/10 intervals (20 seconds of intense   work followed by 10 seconds of rest). You will be using your body weight for these exercises. The class will begin with a 5-minute warm up and end with a 5-minute cool down and stretch. 


ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES AND CLASSES

We offer pre-scheduled activity times for DANCE, BINGO, DRAWING, ARTS & CRAFTS and  CHALLENGE FUN ACTIVITIES. 


JAMMIN' WITH TOM BEGINNER MUSIC CLASS

The beginner music class is for anyone who desires to learn to play an instrument, but has little or no training or experience. As a guideline, we suggest that participants be 10 years of age or older. The beginner class will meet at 6:00PM on Wednesdays, for eight weeks. The participants will have an opportunity to learn or improve skills in the following areas: basics of music, how to play your instrument and how to play in an ensemble or group. Participants will provide their own musical instruments.


JAMMIN' WITH TOM ADVANCED MUSIC CLASS (WORKSHOP/JAM SESSION)

This session is for experienced players who would like to share and learn with others. As a guideline, we suggest that participants have previous played an instrument. The workshop will meet Wednesdays at 6:45PM. The participants will have an opportunity to learn or improve skills in the following areas: ensemble participation, improvisation, development of group repertoire. Participants will provide their own musical instruments
