We Can Warriors

On January 19, 2018, my son Sēbian’s dream became a reality.

What began as a simple conversation between father and son—about a world that didn’t always make room for him—grew into something far greater than we could have imagined. From that moment, Sēb’s Recreation Center (SRC) was born: an all-inclusive space where individuals with disabilities and members of our aging community can gather, grow, and belong alongside their families, friends, and neighbors.

SRC was created from a deep personal vision, a place built not around limitations, but around possibilities. Here, every individual is welcomed, valued, and encouraged to participate in recreation, learning, and meaningful social connection. It is a community where differences are embraced, friendships are formed, and dignity and independence are celebrated every day.

Since opening our doors, we have witnessed countless moments that remind us why this mission matters: new friendships sparked through shared activities, families finding support and understanding, and individuals discovering confidence in spaces designed just for them. These experiences continue to inspire us to expand our reach and deepen our impact.

Sēbian’s dream was never just about a building; it was about creating a community rooted in inclusion, compassion, and opportunity—a place where everyone has the chance to thrive.

Sēbian believed deeply that everyone deserves a place where they are seen, valued, and included. Today, SRC proudly carries that belief forward by empowering individuals with special needs and unique challenges through community outreach, health and wellness, recreation, and education designed to strengthen and develop lives.

SRC would not be here without the incredible supporters who believed in Sēbian’s dream, even when it was just an idea. Because of you, that dream continues to touch lives every single day.

To preserve Sēbian’s legacy, we created the WE CAN WARRIORS (WCW) campaign.

WE CAN WARRIORS are people who fight for something bigger than themselves. They believe in positive change. They stand for equality, inclusion, family, youth, seniors, and our disabled community. Like Sēbian, they believe that together, we can make the world better.

Today, SRC proudly serves more than 1,000 members—and the need continues to grow. Your support allows us to provide meaningful programming, essential resources, and a safe, welcoming space for individuals and families who rely on SRC not only for recreation, but for connection, dignity, and hope.

Sēb’s Recreation Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all contributions are tax deductible.
